What should my dancer wear?
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theater: Female dancers wear a leotard, tights to cover their legs, and shoes appropriate for the style of dance. Much like a soccer player has a uniform, so does a dancer. Dressing like a dancer makes you feel like a dancer. Dancers may sometimes be allowed to wear skirts, shorts or leggings for dance classes. Always check with the teacher before wearing these extra items!

Acro Dance: It is important to the safety of the dancer to wear a leotard. We also recommend wearing tights (with no feet), or leggings to prevent skin irritation. Acro dance is done with bare feet. We sanitize our mats after every class.

Hip Hop: The dress code for hip hop is more relaxed. Dancers are encouraged to wear leotards for the best movement, but tight-fitting tops and leggings may be worn. For sanitary reasons we do not allow street shoes in our dance rooms.

What should male dancers wear?

Boys are encouraged to wear a T shirt and comfortable black pants to class. Boys also need appropriate shoes (except acro), which Kehl stocks in the store.
